John H. Crouse, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Vice President/Director of Architecture

Through his 28 years as the founding principal of an architectural firm, and now as H&A's director of architecture, John has directed and designed many award winning building and urban planning projects, some of which have won National AIA and ASLA awards and recognition. He stresses the need for creativity in dealing with even routine projects.

Further, John believes in mentoring and encouraging architectural team members to grow professionally through community activities and ongoing education.

John earned his bachelors in architecture from Virginia Tech. As an accredited LEED AP since 2001, he leads his department’s efforts at green and sustainable design and planning. He cultivates an attitude of using sustainable design approaches on all projects.

John sits on various nonprofit boards including the Virginia Center for Architecture, the Virginia Society of the AIA and the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America.
