Senior Associate/Structural Department Head

Steve joined H&A as the structural department head in 2009 after owning and operating a structural consulting firm for 13 years. He has worked 25 years as a consulting structural engineer prior to the acquisition of his company by H&A. Steve and his employees came with a positive attitude and a “can do” spirit and they were an immediate fit with the culture at H&A.

Since Steve’s arrival, the structural department has continued to work on challenging projects around the world in some of the toughest conditions imaginable. Under Steve’s leadership, the structural department has steadily grown to 13 people, increased its presence in the private sector market and continued to work on the wide range of federal projects the department has always serviced. Steve’s efforts at H&A have been recognized and in 2011 he was named a senior associate.

Steve earned his bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering with structural emphasis from Virginia Tech. He is active in several engineering societies as well as the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia.
