Hampton City Administration Building

With many of its civic facilities scattered among several lease holdings, the city of Hampton, Virginia, needed a new facility that could also serve as a focal point for the revitalization efforts occurring in the downtown district.

H&A designed a cutting-edge, six story office building that meets the demanding business needs of the downtown area. Aligning with Virginia architecture traditions, the use of brick adds to the stately, elegant theme of the building. A series of brick columns span from the south to east ends of the structure, emphasizing the height and significance of the facility. Adorned with vertical masonry elements, the columns are designed to draw the eye upward, making the building appear more statuesque.
