Howard County Government Office Complex
The redevelopment of the Howard County Government Office complex district in Ellicott City, Maryland, involved a master plan and design services for the county’s existing government campus. By adding a 300,000 square foot administrative office building, a 150,000 square foot courthouse, and additional parking for 1,000 vehicles, H&A designers were able to integrate multiple county government functions into a cohesive area.
Designed to meet the criteria for LEED Silver Certification, the modern building reflects the common materials and architecture styles common in the historic business district.
H&A combined design and planning efforts with Leers Weinzapfel & Associates for the courthouse.
