Mariners Row Village at Oyster Point City Center
H&A designed Mariners Row in Newport News to maximize visual appeal with the use of an open-air urban marketplace around a main street lined with pedestrian walkways, open plazas, attractive streetscapes, and accessible parking. The program includes over 100,000 square feet of retail and 180,000 square feet of office space.
Storefronts line the street, housing merchants with distinct identities in one structure. The exteriors are faced with a mélange of brick, pre-cast concrete, EIFS, and wood to articulate a series of individual storefronts. This unique approach gives each tenant space a sense of identity and a distinct character. Upper stories house office and commercial spaces. The district has become a center for destination retail, attracting a mix of tenants including national and local retailers.
