Fountain Square at Town Center of Virginia Beach

Surrounding the central public plaza of the Town Center of Virginia Beach, Fountain Square, which includes 45,000 square feet of restaurants and shops, was designed to be a central gathering place within the pedestrian-oriented urban center.

The H&A design team was challenged to provide a focal point for the Town Center that includes two-story retail with activity on both levels as well as a street presence on all four sides. To meet these criteria, the building features the timeless aesthetic of a classic civic building and was designed with four fully functional facades, while the second floor includes a balcony wide enough for foot traffic or for viewing activities in the plaza below.
