Logistics University, Fort Lee, VA
H&A served as the engineering design team on the new Logistics University (LOGU) in Fort Lee – a facility for joint maneuver sustainment training with online interactive simulations in war gaming, and a globally-accessible center supporting live, virtual exercises. The facility includes an education and simulation building totaling 397,000 square feet incorporating sustainable design criteria to meet LEED requirements. LOGU was the first major Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) project. As a foundation for the BRAC program nationwide, H&A and architecture partner HNTB were challenged with designing on a compressed schedule of four months. The contractor was Balfour Beatty.
