H&A Announces New Certified Energy Manager
Virginia-based architecture/engineering (A/E) firm, H&A Architects & Engineers (H&A), announces its newest Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Stefana Petrova-Bowens, PE.
The CEM credential has gained industry-wide use as the standard for qualifying energy professionals both in the United States and abroad. The CEM demonstrates high levels of expertise, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness in the energy management profession. A few of the agencies that recognize this certification include:
• U.S. Department of Energy
• Office of Federal Energy Management Programs
• U.S. Agency for International Development
H&A currently has six CEM’s on staff.
Petrova-Bowens is a senior mechanical engineer at the firm’s Richmond office. In addition to her CEM certification, she is also a Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD). The CGD program is designed to recognize professionals who have demonstrated high levels of experience in applying the principles and practices of geothermal heat pump design and related disciplines.
She is the first and only engineer at H&A to earn this distinction.
